In this study, I designed and analyzed a locally produced roll-cage using CATIA V5 software. The structural performance was verified via ANSYS Workbench 17.1, adhering to established geometric standards. A501 hot rolled steel was employed for the material, considering forces from driver, roll cage weight, and payload (2 kN). Modal analysis was performed initially, followed by static structural analysis in various scenarios. Two different cross-section tubes were analyzed to compare deformation and maximum stress against yield stress. Based on results, torsional stiffness, bending stiffness, and strength were calculated, with circular tube proving more stiff than square tube at 1.08 kg/m weight. The sizing of the roll cage was validated through graphical representation of bending stiffness and strength vs wall thickness.
