Utility Blade Handle

Utility Blade Handle

thingiverse

Although not very bright, I find myself most comfortable shaving and pruning my prints using a raw utility blade, without the use of a knife. That being said, the blades are too thin to hold comfortably, and dangerously unwieldy alone. Therefore I quickly designed a minimalist blade handle so as to better grip a single blade while having the least amount of material in the way. The handle is designed with a 0.6mm slit to allow the insertion of a single standard utility blade. A little elbow grease is required to slide a blade in. I used a mallet to lightly tap mine into place. The design has two ridges built-in to keep the blade from sliding out, and is therefore only compatible with double notched utility blades, though the design is so simple it could be easily adapted.
