UTG Brass Catcher Assist

This design upgrade transforms the UTG's AR-15 brass catcher into a superior tool: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/855937/utg-deluxe-brass-catcher-ar-15-nylon-mesh-black. The product works remarkably well, outperforming my 3D printed brass catcher in every way. With this modification, it functions flawlessly - even when I'm running around, it still catches every piece of brass because the bag entrance remains open and stable. Designing the upgrade was a breeze, taking under thirty minutes to complete, with an additional ten minutes spent adding the lip and extra edge blends for version 2. I didn't bother uploading the original design. Pictures were more effective than renders in showcasing the modification's benefits, and it would have taken just as long to create those images as it did to design them. Purchasing this product and printing my part for it is currently the most cost- and time-effective way to collect AR-15 spent brass. For those unfamiliar with the practice, collecting and recycling spent brass cases can save your wallet (and the environment!) by reusing cartridges through re-priming, reloading gunpowder, and seating a new bullet with a press to create remanufactured ammunition. This process is known as reloading. Collecting and reloading identical cartridge brands/lot is ideal for achieving uniform trajectories, as it ensures near-identical combustion chamber sizes - one less variable to consider when tracking trajectory differences. This catcher also saves time by eliminating the need to bend over and pick up brass, and can be used to collect steel cases with equal ease.
