The USS Tennessee, the pioneering battleship, served as the first ship in her class to bear this name. She was the third warship in the United States Navy to be honored by being named after the sixteenth US state. In World War II, while serving in the Pacific Theater, the USS Tennessee faced damage from a December 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor. On December 7, 1941, she was tied to two masonry quays along Battleship Row in the morning hours. The southeast side of Ford Island at Pearl Harbor features a row of deep-water berths that are referred to as Battleship Row. As the Japanese launched their attack on Pearl Harbor, crew members manning the anti-aircraft guns onboard attempted to defend both their ship and the harbor with all due haste. However, during the aerial assault, she took two incomplete detonations from armor-piercing bombs that shook the very foundation of her hull. The initial impact struck turret 2, causing inoperability for its three mounted guns, while the secondary blast penetrated through the roof of turret 3 and left a trail of devastating damage on its left-hand gun. As debris rained down upon the USS Tennessee following Arizona's tragic magazine explosion, it only added more ferocity to her plight. Following World War II, the battleship spent nearly fifteen years laid dormant in a naval reserve before eventually meeting her demise by being dismantled for scrap metal production in 1959. Key figures in this miniature depiction of the battleship include the prominent model itself, and then there are three smart-prop options which represent various stages of her anchored position: complete set raised, individual one lowered down to sea-level and complete sets retracted beneath deck; together with two O3U Corsair Float-planes shown. As an optional replacement alternative available, all anchoring fixtures may be taken out for a substitution by different items of similar structure or function - which can similarly apply in case of Float-aircraft as well. Some main features that give these replicas some lifelike authenticity include: fully-working Rudders, Main & Secondary gun turret movements along with their rotating barrell systems and even the elevation abilities provided through secondary parts; Cargo winches for material hauling up and down - functioning beacons to guide other friendly air or sea crafts safely toward the vessel during daylight and also under low-lit environments - Spotlights & directing systems, all combined effectively operating alongside moveable Aircract Launchpads for instant take-offs and moving catapult arms used mainly for placing smaller fighter types such as float planes ready to lift-off on request! Also there exists a complete model which features full working versions of these Corsair Float-planes, designed to bring realism and motion where the less realistic models cannot provide sufficient enough realism for viewers who have specific need. Chris Schell has given his creative original masterpiece for sharing purposes and with his direct consent was included in this marketplace listing specifically crafted according its user compatibility level so as only versions available for usage from "Poser 6" onward are presented in detailed high-quality visuals displayed through 70 various interworking features present within.
