A highly detailed USS Reagan model produced for the Virginia Air and Space Center and Popular Mechanics Magazine was developed. During its "Tiger Cruise," the actual ship underwent review by senior staff members who carefully examined every detail. A massive 21-foot-long version of this exact cutaway is now on display at The Virginia Air and Space Center. Here, you'll find the highly detailed exterior and interior model of portions of a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier produced from meticulous plans. This model consists of three large parts:* There's an incredibly accurate 'skinned' model similar to those other aircraft carriers available here. This version is also identical to my initial post.* One of the first, extremely high-resolution models ever created of the Aircraft Carrier, CVN-76, known as the U.S.S. Reagan, is included in this pack.* A cutaway and interior deck structure of the superstructure above the Flight Deck, known as The Island Tower, is also part of the package.* Furthermore, you receive a separate model featuring the cutaway and interior deck structures below the Flight Deck.The entire ship's deck structure runs continuously from front to back, and all areas visible in the original cutaway are populated with authentic models that match their respective compartment's function. However, the reactor rooms and engine area contain classified information and include generic Westinghouse designs instead of precise details.Included are:- High-resolution exterior models of the aircraft carrier and internal deck structures- A stowed F18 fighter jet for placement on the deck or in the hangar is included, as well as the deck crane and handling equipment.- The preview cutaway views feature accurately detailed interior areas and corresponding models.All models comprise about 60 layers representing different decks and critical spaces. In the OBJ model, these are referred to as "parts."These models were designed for display at extremely high resolution, offering intricate details that can be seen from various angles. Originally created using Lightwave as quads, this version is a combination of both quad and triangular faces. Additionally, all 3 OBJ versions have been tripled in size. All three complete, fully-loaded deck configurations will automatically position upon import, allowing seamless swapping of deck components between each model for added versatility and accuracy within your rendering applications.The result: users can easily merge tower decks with external carrier models while keeping intact compartmentalization but still lacking walk-through functionality without requiring significant model editing efforts or expensive specialized software to render it properly.
