USS Phantom ____________________ Story:___ The vessel was conceived as part of the Phantom Pact initiative in the 2280s. Its primary objective encompassed both empirical research and clandestine reconnaissance. Only a limited number of vessels were manufactured before the program was discontinued, and these were constructed from the frameworks and gear of retired ships. Ninety percent of the equipment utilized in their construction was repurposed from mothballed vessels, mainly allocated to advanced sensor arrays and propulsion units. These upgrades enabled enhanced stealth capabilities and reduced detection risks. Since each ship's configuration varied greatly, there existed no standardized classification. Each vessel retained a distinct registry number, but with altered names to conceal its true identity. The clandestine nature of these vessels rendered them mostly obsolete for frontline duties, relegated to covertly observing fledgling alien civilizations on the cusp of interstellar travel. Current status of vessels: Unknown, presumably dismantled and refurbished.
