The Enterprise is the flagship of the United Federation of Planets Starfleet in the television series Star Trek (Star Trek: Voyage to the Stars in Latin America). It is also the name of one of the series in the Star Trek universe. The name was inspired by the various HMS Enterprises (there were fifteen) of the British Royal Navy between 1693 and 2002, as well as the ten USS Enterprises, with one playing a prominent role in World War II and another being the first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier of its class. The construction of this last one was completed just a few years before the original series began, and it even makes a cameo appearance in the fourth film of the saga (Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home).
