Update 7/7/2018 added new upgrades. Control arms with shocks https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2993391. Steering linkage https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2993399. New Bed can be printed as an assembly or individual parts https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2993409. I've made some customized items for this great project.https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2299884. Everything I've done to customize my truck is included in this post. First off, I made custom wheels for rubber monster truck tires. These tires are available on Ebay at https://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?icep_id=114&ipn=icep&toolid=20004&campid=5338315919&mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2FBlack-Rubber-120-mm-OD-Wheel-Tires-Y-Shape-for-RC1-10-Truck-Pack-of-4%2F173307929807%3FssPageName%3DSTRK%253AMEBIDX%253AIT%26_trksid%3Dp2057872.m2749.l2649. I've also added new hub adapters. Next, I turned to the body. Basically, I was trying to create a Fire Department Bush Truck. It's based on the Ursa King Cab Body https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2626736. The only part I used as is from this body is the center body https://www.thingiverse.com/download:4320196. The front body part has been modified to remove weight and made the grill and bumper individual parts. The bumper and grill bolt together, then must be glued to the front of the body. The rear body is a flatbed brush truck style design and is printed in two parts. I've also included a separate hose reel assembly for show and hides the rear body mounting clips. The steering assembly was redesigned to use leftover 3mm tubing from the differentials and center gearbox or #4 threaded rod. Driveshafts were modified to allow for a slip collar. This was to allow for greater suspension travel. The design requires you to use the pin style pinions on both the differentials and center gearbox. A spring from a simple ball point pen inserted into the driveshaft during assembly keeps outward tension on the drivetrain. Next, I turned my attention to the shocks. They have been designed to use a 5/16 x 1-1/2 x .020 inch coil springs available at your local Lowes in packs of four. The lower spring mounts have been reconfigured and beefed up a bit. This allows you to rotate the mounts on the axle housing to adjust the spring tension, and or Shock-Body height. I'm still building my truck, and more may come. Again thanks to https://www.thingiverse.com/Superclodbuster and https://www.thingiverse.com/tahustvedt for their incredible work which made this possible!
