The Seaview, a twin-turbine nuclear submarine, starred in Irwin Allen's 1961 film Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea and its subsequent TV series. Initially, 'USOS,' short for 'United States Oceanographic Survey,' was its prefix as per Theodore Sturgeon's tie-in novel.
