I received this figurine from my grandmother as an inheritance. Ushabti, a common funerary gift in Ancient Egypt, share its characteristics. Its origins are unclear, but my grandfather purchased it from a Tunisian antiquities dealer nearly 50 years ago. I question its authenticity, however, ushabti were sometimes found in Punic/Carthaginian burials as well - the Carthaginians drew heavily from Egyptian spirituality and mysticism - leaving room for possibility that it was discovered in Tunisia.
