This is a parts caddy engineered specifically for empty spool recycling. The spools utilized in this project are empty Sunlu filament spools featuring an inner hub diameter of 72mm and a total outer diameter of 195mm. Fabricate two bearing plates, as well as two six-slot or eight-slot trays per rack, depending on the number of bins printed. Bearing plates employ 10mm balls for smooth operation. A 4x16 bolt paired with a lock nut effectively secures the assembly from backing off. The caddy can be stacked to multiple layers high as desired, but I find that two spools per caddy is sufficient. To connect the bearing plate, use hot glue; similarly, apply hot glue for each of the floor plates and spacer tube connections.
