USB Volume Knob for Digispark ATtiny85
thingiverse
USB Volume Knob based on WPATRICK's design. See photo for slicer orientation. - Adds notches to interior of housing to account for alignment pin on rotary encoder - Adds 3mm in length to knob to account for longer rotary encoder (as noted in his original info) - Also made the hole in the case and the interior space for the d-stem a tiny bit bigger. There are multiple versions of the knob depending on whether or not you want a logo or imprint of some sort. If you don't, use WPATRICK's knob. 1. Base - same as WPATRICK's 2. Case - Added notches for rotary encoder alignment pin 3. Knob with Space - you can add your 2mm logo or play/pause etc. It will print fine face down. 4. Knob with Space and Post - alternately, you can print a "coin" with your logo on it (so that you print the logo face-up instead of face-down) and glue it into the hole. The post serves as support for the bridge as well as alignment for the coin. 5 & 6. Coins for above knobs. The coins are each 1mm thick. Your logo/graphic/whatever should be 1mm and sit on top of the coin and it will be flush with the knob. ATtiny85 from Envistia Mall: https://envistiamall.com/products/digispark-kickstarter-attiny85-micro-usb-development-board-for-arduino-us-stock Rotary Encoder was from Envistia Mall via eBay Both are cheaper from Aliexpress if you are willing to wait. Learned how to program the ATtiny85 here: https://iotprojectsideas.com/program-digispark-attiny85-with-arduino-ide/ FrankLumien has a pinout digram on his USB Knob Thing: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2970774 Erikjuh suggested using the wires from an old Ethernet cable and that worked out great. Download FrankLumien's sketch and import that into the Arduino IDE. It's easy to fix things if the controller is working backwards (for example, hahaha). Just swap the words LEFT for RIGHT and vice-versa. Added some nuts and bolts for heft with SuperGlue and a hot glue gun. Added anti-slip mat to the bottom with Elmer's purple glue stick. Use self-tapping screws. To attach the base to the case, M2x6mm is fine.
