This is more as “I got an idea and materialized the idea into a working solution” from what I have found at home and using my 3D printer.

I have a regular desktop computer connected to my printer. And wanted a kind of "remote" turn-on another device. So made a box, added a regular power wall socket/outlet, power On/Off switch, computer (female) power cable socket from a regular dektop and some cables. PowerSwitch and USB_Relay go parallel, just in case I would have issue with starting it via USB. Otherwise the internal cables and connections are simple. Top part look awkward because it will be and is now screwed under a table.

In octoprint is a plugin, that can be used:

https://plugins.octoprint.org/plugins/usbrelaycontrol/

Or use simple python script.

https://github.com/jaketeater/Very-Simple-USB-Relay
