USB/Portable Hard Drive Caddy
thingiverse
Fed up with portable hard-drives constantly falling off the desk because they don't stack properly, I designed this rack to hold them in place. Not certain how many of these size drives exist, but my Seagate and Maxtor drives fit perfectly. Print as many clip-together segments as needed plus one lid. No support required, I printed with ABS on a Prusa i3 Mk3 at 0.35mm layer height, with approximately 20% infill. The lid should be printed upside down to that shown here - and unsure why the main piece isn't displaying correctly, the file appears to be present. Each section took me roughly one hour and fifty minutes to print. By request, an additional .STL of a segment 1mm higher has been added to suit Seagate drives specifically. For personal use, I printed one in a different color, so I know which bay has just that little extra space available. By request, an additional .STL of a "Type 2 Lid" has been added without the central cut-out. Problems were experienced with warping when printing this with default settings on ABS, however, it is likely to be fine if PET-G is used or careful temperatures are maintained.
