USB plug guard for ThinkPad keyboard
thingiverse
I'm moving my ThinkPad USB keyboard around frequently, which causes wear and tear on the micro-USB plug that's directly connected to the keyboard. The flaky connection has been life-threatening in several online games due to its unpredictable behavior. This plug protector keeps it securely in place. While this design may not be universally useful without having the exact same keyboard and micro-USB plug, I'm uploading the files with the hope that the idea will be beneficial to others who face similar issues. OpenSCAD source code is included for anyone looking to modify or improve upon the design. The "-clip" STL file is intended for testing whether it fits snugly (it prints in about 5 minutes), and I've also used two of them to mark the spot between F4/F5 and F8/F9, where a tactile gap is supposed to be present on classic keyboards.
