USB Microscope to GoPro adapter

USB Microscope to GoPro adapter

This part attaches one of the affordable USB Microscopes to a GoPro mount, kicking off a project to create a practical video microscope using a $10 camera macro focus rail for solid camera support. I'm sharing just this portion because it's adaptable to GoPro format and can be used independently. I struggled to print the curved end of the GoPro tabs, so I added thin supports to the design. These are easily removed, allowing the end to be sanded smooth. Other approaches, such as using internal supports, resulted in tabs that were too wide. This design is available on OnShape.com, where it can be accessed by anyone signed up for an account. A link to the design is goo.gl/HTtGzs. Users can copy and modify the design, with most parameters controlled through a table at the beginning of the design. For printing, I used two layers of skirt very close to the part, a 0.2mm layer thickness, no raft, no support, and slow speeds for the first layer. So far, I've only printed this in ABS plastic, but it provides a snug grip to the USB Microscope that's better than the one included with the microscope itself.
