Numerous microscope stands are available for purchase, with varying levels of usability. However, for 3D printer owners, printing a stand is an effortless task. Most additional parts like screws, nuts, and tubes can be easily sourced from a local hardware store. The high-quality macro images come from a test cube, printed using a layer height of 0.25mm with PLA filament. This microscope stand is specifically designed for the 5MP USB Microscope from Adafruit (http://www.adafruit.com/products/636), but it can be easily customized to suit other USB microscopes. The Bill of Materials (BOM) includes: one 16mm outer diameter, 14mm inner diameter aluminum tube, 120mm long; one 12mm outer diameter, 10mm inner diameter aluminum tube, 60mm long; one 8mm outer diameter, 6mm inner diameter aluminum tube, approximately 14mm long; an M5 threaded rod, 170mm long; a 608ZZ or similar-sized bearing with an inside diameter of 8mm and an outside diameter of 22mm; three M5 nuts; a 5mm washer; an M5 hex nut with nylon locking; one M4 bolt, 14mm long; one M4 nut; and one M3 screw, 8mm long, along with an M3 nut.
