Assembly takes just 10 minutes to complete, no fuss at all. A basic housing is all you need for the USB plug and 5V laser diode; both can be easily sourced on eBay for a low cost. The diode and plug fit snugly together with only 0.2 clearance, extra security comes from adding a drop of super glue. This assembly works seamlessly with Thing #3310544 on Thingiverse.
