USB Hub
thingiverse
So I picked up this USB hub for free at a convention (check out the last photos). Although it only supports USB 2.0, I still find it useful because my Microsoft Surface Pro has limited ports - just one USB port, to be exact. This made it necessary for me to constantly choose between using a mouse and plugging in a flash drive. I didn't want to carry around an oversized piece of plastic with unnecessary branding, so I took some measurements of the PCB, jumped into Fusion 360 to create this custom case, and got to work. In Cura, I used the Modify G-Code Plugin to pause printing right before adding the "lid". After that, I glued in the PCB using super glue, tidied up the cables, and continued with the rest of the print. I know this project is very specific to my current setup and may not be easily adapted by others. However, I thought it was worth sharing in case someone else finds inspiration from it. Feel free to use my Fusion 360 file to modify it as needed.
