USB Holder for End Table with Snap-Fit Cover

USB Holder for End Table with Snap-Fit Cover

thingiverse

I needed a reliable USB holder for my end table by the couch, but most designs I found allowed the cord to slip out of their slots when pulled up for use. To prevent this from happening, I decided to incorporate a snap-fit cover that keeps the cords firmly in place. My table had only 16 mm of clearance for the table clamp, so if your table has significantly rounded edges, this design might not hold as well as it did for me. A 3D printed M6 plastic bolt ensures a secure hold on the camp to the table. Several known issues have arisen: 1. On my table, the M6 bolt was difficult to tighten down due to lack of clearance. Others with similar small overhangs will likely experience this issue as well. 2. The USB connectors protrude quite far above the table top. I would like to lower the position of the USB slots so they don't stick up as high above the tabletop.
