USB Flight Controller / Joystick with Four Axes

With the new flight simulator coming out this fall 2020, it's time to take control of your gaming experience by making your own joystick! # Description This is a fully functional 3D printed flight control joystick that connects directly to your computer via USB. An Arduino Micro handles the interface and detects movements through 10k potentiometers. Even if you're not tech-savvy, you can still assemble this project without needing extensive programming or electronics knowledge. The software utilizes the Joystick 1.0 library from Matthew Heironimus, which is included in the downloadable zip file. With all parts combined, your joystick will likely cost between 20 to 50 euros, depending on how cheaply you can source them. # Printing All printed components were created using PETG material from various vendors (Prusament and extrudr). # Slicer The STL files used for printing were sliced using PrusaSlicer software. # Orientation Each STL file was carefully oriented to ensure optimal print quality. # Resolution Most parts were printed at a resolution of 0.15mm (*0.15 mm Quality MK3* in PrusaSlicer), while larger pieces were printed at 0.3mm (*0.30 mm Draft MK3*) due to time constraints. Larger pieces that required higher resolution include: - Stick_L - Stick_R - Throttle_L - Throttle_R - Bottom_Plate # Support Some parts need to be printed with support material, including: - Rubber_Platform - Stick_R - Stick_L # Assembly For a detailed guide on assembling the joystick, visit Instructables at https://www.instructables.com/id/3D-Printed-USB-Flight-Controller-Joystick-With-Fou/. # Design The joystick was designed from scratch in Blender. The source file, including all objects (screws, potentiometers, buttons, and Arduino), is attached for further customization. I plan to add a case soon, but first, I'll experiment with adding more buttons after extensive gaming sessions to determine what features are necessary. Feel free to contribute your own ideas and enhance this project!
