USB Desk Mount
youmagine
I spent a lot of time fidgeting under my desk, constantly plugging and unplugging cables because my new monitor lacked USB outlets on its sides. To solve this problem, I designed a simple mount that holds the ends of two USB3 USB-A to A cables in place, giving me the illusion that my desk has built-in USB ports. I used Amazon's USB3 Cables (ASIN: B014RWAMWC), but be aware that these might not work with every printer, so feel free to use this design as a starting point for your own creation. I never printed a single-cable mount, opting instead for the two-up version, which I made by duplicating the single design. The single cable mount should work just as well, though. The mount features a small recess that allows the cable's bulky logo badge to fit snugly, and a slight 1mm bump in front of the Type A jack to prevent the cable end from coming loose. A minor tweak would be to round off the corners for a smoother look. If you're familiar with Lightwave, feel free to use the included LWO file to make the necessary adjustments. Remember to exercise caution when using this mount to avoid damaging any USB drives plugged into your desk.
