USB desk lamp

This is a compact USB powered desk lamp featuring an LED bulb constructed from six super bright LEDs connected in parallel (view images). A 12-15 ohm resistor appears to be the ideal choice for the 5V supply, as it matches the specs perfectly. Any standard USB cable can serve as the cord; I picked up a few at Fry's for under $1. When building the bulb, I connect all the cathodes together around the outside edge and wrap the anodes together in the center before soldering on the resistor. After testing the bulb to ensure it's working properly, I encase the entire assembly in hot melt glue. For hardware, I use two 1/4-20 x 1 inch bolts and two corresponding 1/4-20 nuts.
