I was rummaging through an old box, when I stumbled upon a vintage Nokia USB cable that had been collecting dust for years. What caught my eye was the sleek design of its integrated cable organizer. I decided to take a closer look and see if anyone had created something similar on Thingiverse. As it turns out, Heliobteixeira had already posted a design with integrated cable management that was eerily reminiscent of Nokia's original concept. I downloaded their STL file and began experimenting with the wall thickness and design parameters until I achieved the perfect balance of rigidity and snugness. After some trial and error, I came up with three versions: 1. The 2.8 mm version is ideal for standard Samsung USB cables with a diameter of approximately 2.8 mm. 2. The 3.5 mm version is designed for slightly thicker USB cables with a diameter of around 3.5 mm. 3. The Braided version is specifically tailored to snap snugly onto braided type cables, which have a similar diameter to the 3.5 mm variety. While these designs worked seamlessly with my test USB cables, I'm aware that there may be other cable thicknesses out there waiting to be accommodated. Feel free to experiment and adjust the design in your slicer as needed. When it comes to printing, material properties and printer accuracy can significantly impact how well the cable organizer snaps onto the cable. But don't worry – these prints are quick and easy to produce. Here's how to use them: simply snap one end of the USB cable into the cable recess, loop the rest of the cable, and slide it in one loop at a time through the other end. These print fast and make great giveaways for anyone who loves gadgets.
