USB-C to MicroUSB keychain dongle holder
thingiverse
This is a keychain designed to hold a small USB-C to microUSB converter, allowing users to take advantage of the new standard for Nexus devices while easily accessing any microUSB cable. I'm drawn to the idea of drepamig & Sach's keychain holders, but I was not impressed with their positioning or the fact that you'd have to remove the converter dongle to use it. This version that I created will permanently attach to the USB converter and can stay on your keys even while in use. It is sized for the TechMatte USB-C to microUSB converter, which measures 5mm thick, 9.9mm wide and 15.9mm long. The internal dimensions of my keychain adapter are 6mm by 11mm with a dent at both top and bottom, leaving a 4mm gap. This snug fit provides the perfect interference: I was able to press it in easily, but now that it's in, I need pliers to get it out - exactly what I wanted. Since the keychain ring hole is on the side, you can use this dongle while attached to your keys. If your 3D printer has dimensional issues, use this table to scale your model and achieve a proper 1mm interference fit. Scale Table: 1.00: 3.99mm 0.99: 3.95 0.95: 3.79 0.90: 3.59 1.01: 4.03 1.05: 4.18 1.10: 4.38 1.20: 4.78 Printer Settings: Printer Brand: LulzBot Printer: Mini Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 20% Notes: Printed cleanly and true to size in 8 minutes
