A useful way to convert an early Apple iMac IR receiver part (Apple iMac A1225 Infrared board 820-2151-A) to USB to allow non-IR devices (eg newer Mac Minis, G4 Mac Minis, Mac Pro, newer Macbook Pro, etc.). Place a USB cable through the hole, then solder it to the pigtail: Pin 1 - data- (white or yellow) Pin 2 - data+ (green) Pin 3 - 5V (red) Pin 4 - GND (black) Pin 1 is the one marked with a 'v' on the circuit board When completed, test then just glue the top - use velcro to attach it to the front of the device. Use hot glue to secure USB cable through the hole. This will allow any Mac (even the M1 models) to work with an early Apple TV or early Apple laptop remote. Useful for HTPC setups.
