The cunning Avenger (Falco Brovus Foxtroti)- one of 38 stealthy species of aerial hunters existing worldwide. They can be spotted swooping down onto US Air Force bases but often migrate to other high-tech military outposts. Though christened the "blue" hawk, its plumage is rarely seen in a striking shade. In most regions, it's a sage green hunter that blends into its surroundings. Their iridescent feathers may shift in hue dependent on their environment's whims. For instance, in San Diego, California and Norfolk, Virginia, they showcase vibrant blues that shimmer in the sunlight. In San Antonio, Texas and central Ohio, however, they're dressed in subdued sage greens that aid their stalking skills. Although blue hawks regularly patrol active runways, not a single birdstrike incident has been reported involving these aerial thieves; still, they're suspected of causing most US military losses due to mid-air mishaps. Although conclusive evidence is lacking. The Avenger is a highly skilled predator that makes its presence known with unapologetic brazenness. Prey can see the blue hawk approaching, yet powerlessly watch as it strikes with lethal precision. Furthermore, the blue hawk has the unique ability to stalk the same food source repeatedly, picking away at it until its prey finally succumbs. The Avenger is firmly established at the apex of the food chain. Only other members of its own kind have been known to challenge its dominance by preying on it. The Avenger displays pseudo-parasitic tendencies when necessary. It can disguise itself as a vulnerable chick belonging to a larger bird of prey, skillfully manipulating its adoptive parents into casting it out onto the unforgiving ground. Once the blue hawk spots an even larger aerial hunter nearby, it will turn on its adopted parent with ruthless ferocity, devouring it and then making a beeline for its victim's nest in search of more plunder. As you're no doubt aware, my friend had quite a clever idea to leave words emblazoned on that charming stranger's sleek Maltese Falcon.
