USA Maker Coin
thingiverse
While fiddling with maker coins, came across a USA version unexpectedly. The photo shows the printed version, which has a design flaw, but that flaw has been fixed and is reflected in the released STL file. Some minor adjustments were made to the stripes at the bottom in the released STL file as well. To change filament colors, ColorPrint was used at http://www.prusaprinters.org/color-print to modify the g-code, allowing for filament changes at specific layers. For the printed version in the photo, filament changes were made from white to red at 2.1mm and from red to blue at 4.1mm. Print Settings Printer Brand: Prusa Printer: Prusa Mk2 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 100 microns Infill: 20% Notes: The resolution for the first layer is 200 microns. Custom Section Coin Thicknesses The released coin is 8mm thick. The background is 2mm. From the background, the stripes are 2mm thick and range from 2.1mm to 4.0mm. From the background, the stars are 4mm thick and range from 2.1mm to 6.0mm. From the background, the lettering is 6mm thick and ranges from 2.1mm to 8.0mm. You can use these values to determine where you might want to change filaments. If you scale this coin, you will need to scale these values accordingly.
