While messing around with maker coins, ended up with a USA version.

The printed version in the photo does have a design flaw but that flaw has been resolved and is reflected in the released STL file. Some minor changes to the stripes at the bottom were also made in the released STL file.

The filament changes were made by using ColorPrint at http://www.prusaprinters.org/color-print to modify the g-code to allow the ability to make filament changes at selected layers. Filament changes for the printed version in the photo were made at 2.1mm from white to red and 4.1mm from red to blue.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Prusa

Printer:

Prusa Mk2

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

100 microns

Infill:

20%

Notes:

Resolution for the first layer: 200 microns

Custom Section

Coin Thicknesses

The coin as released is 8mm thick.
The background is 2mm.

From the background, the stripes are 2mm thick going from 2.1mm to 4.0mm.

From the background, the stars are 4mm thick going from 2.1mm to 6.0mm.

From the background, the lettering is 6mm thick going from 2.1mm to 8.0mm.

You can use these values to determine where you might wish to change filaments.

If you scale this coin, you will need to scale these values accordingly.

Category: Coins & Badges
