This is a USA Flag per G-Specs and reduced to 3" x 1.65". It's a reverse image that can be used to make custom leather patches. There are several things I've learned while working with leather stamps: 1. Invest in high-quality tooling leather. 2. Design your 3D print with at least a 3mm base and then create the impression image 2mm higher, keeping in mind it must be reversed, including the depth of the impression. 3. Soak and knead the leather for about 5 minutes in very warm water. 4. Use two 1/2" thick steel plates to apply uniform pressure; I found that 1/4" steel can flex and produce uneven results. 5. Press for 5 minutes using a 12-ton press (or more), as a vise may not be sufficient; the 5-minute time frame is ideal if you're soaking another piece of leather to repeat. I place a dry paper towel on the steel plate to prevent rust or metal color from staining the back of the leather, then place the wet leather good side up. Next, I put the stamp face down and finally add the second steel plate on top. An example of stamped leather is shown in the photos; I haven't used the regular flag stamp yet, but it will work just as well.
