Scale Model of a Worcester Class Cruiser Ship The small model I'm showing you is the first part of a very old set of ships called the Worcester-class light cruisers. During WWII, the US Navy ordered these cruisers but didn't actually put them in use until 1948, seven years after they were needed. There were supposed to be ten of these warships built for the navy but only two of them were fully finished by the end of the day when the work on them stopped. It took a while longer before people finally agreed that those extra eight cruisers weren't ever going to see the action they'd been planned for. On this particular cruiser you'll see twenty-five guns. There are twelve large guns on top which fire a shell over a long distance and can also be used to defend against planes when necessary, along with thirteen smaller dual-purpose guns which shoot their rounds across water and can help keep other enemy boats in line. If you like this, don't miss my upcoming post featuring the different warships of the Cold War period! Update August 21st: A group of sailors in uniform now carefully check all safety nets, boat winches and ropes in perfect alignment along with anchor chains on either side. A while back I was experimenting, testing if printing models using super tiny parts made at .1 millimeters thick and pushing a nozzle of four millimeters in diameter really did deliver nice details without missing the finer aspects or making unnecessary complications. You may be looking for ships that went to war from this time period but I will also keep updating with similar stuff like different designs for these 49-year-old vessels as you have asked for.
