This model showcases the scale replica of a US Victory Ship, built to facilitate mass transportation of war supplies from the United States to theaters across the world. At nearly twice as long as its predecessor, the Liberty Ship, this marvel exhibited increased velocity making it an ideal target for German U-boats and significantly lessened the danger posed by them. As standard equipment included some light defense, largely anti-aircraft guns were equipped but it mostly counted on destroyers and carriers to keep ships protected. The sheer number of vessels that saw completion was substantial: 534 ships set sail during wartime production; a remarkable three still in operation today attest to their strength.
