1/300th scale WW2 Sims Class Destroyer model, accurate representation not possible due to scale limitations. The US Navy's Sims class comprised 12 destroyers built between 1937 and 1940, 7 of which were lost during World War II. Their original design included 5 five-inch guns and 12 torpedo tubes; however, many were later modified by replacing one five-inch gun with four fifty-caliber machine guns in addition to removing 4 of the 12 torpedo tubes. This model is precision-engineered and tested at a scale of 1/300th, allowing for potential scaling up or down. Unfortunately, due to a lack of fine detail, it's not ideal to print significantly larger versions because some critical components such as the gun barrels and mast would become oversized. This project represents my extensive collection of historical World War II warships; be on the lookout for even more additions. If you have a particular model request, please don't hesitate to send me a message, and I'll prioritize it according to your specifications. Update 22 Aug 19: Additional vessels, boats, and anchor chains have been incorporated into this model, along with improvements for optimal print quality. Successful printing has been confirmed using PLA filament at an extremely fine layer height of .08mm paired with a .4mm nozzle.
