The US Army developed the M9 rifle grenade as an anti-tank weapon for use in World War II. Weighing 590 grams, this small but effective grenade was designed to fit snugly onto a standard-issue M1 Garand rifle or other compatible firearms. Its length of 284 millimeters and diameter of 48 millimeters made it easy to handle and maneuver on the battlefield.
