Puzzle of a US Map for Young Kids. To cater to my very young kids, I deliberately designed the puzzle pieces large enough that they're safe for children under three years old. This design choice allowed me to combine a few states into one piece, such as Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. It took approximately 45 minutes to an hour to print most of the states, except for California and Texas, which required slightly more time. Unfortunately, the map I used did not have Alaska and Hawaii proportionate in size, and it wasn't until much later that I realized this issue. To improve stability and prevent the states from falling apart easily, I created a backplate to hold everything together securely. This backplate is also 3D printed in puzzle pieces for added convenience. For those interested in making modifications, I've included the SketchUp files so you can customize the design as needed. Each state piece is approximately 25mm thick, while all the backplates are about 10mm thick.
