The Replica accurately replicates the scale blueprint of a U.S.Navy Standard Steam Cutter, exactly as depicted in an authentic Navy manual printed in 1902 by A.M.P Maschmeyer. Developers initially envisioned the boat to be powered by a steam engine, while also providing sails for extra propulsion and offering rowing capability. The designers utilized a universal hull template suitable for vessels of varying dimensions: 28, 30, 33, 36 and 40 feet in length. The model in hand is specifically the larger version measuring 40 feet. The replica was first created with Blender's newest rendering capabilities offered in version 2.80. Subsequently, it was converted to work seamlessly with both 3dsMax 13 and VRML 97. Recognizing that some individuals still use Blender for Internal Rendering, an alternate edition of the replica tailored for users employing this capability within version 2.79 of Blender was independently created.
