The scale model depicts the USS Brig Eagle, a victor during the 1814 Anglo-American War of Lake Champlain on September 11th. Built under Lieutenant Thomas Macdonough's instructions, it was commanded by Master Commandant Robert Henley who renamed her "Surprise." Constructed in Vergennes, Vermont by shipwright Noah Brown, Eagle Brig launched on August 11th, just 19 days after keel-laying. Measuring 117 feet in length and 34 feet in beam, it housed a crew of 150 sailors. Armed with carronades and long guns, the model demonstrates two different arrangements: guns ready for battle or stowed for strong winds. Armor included triple wood layers above deck, double below, and an internal wooden layer. Textures totaling 6MB are provided in each format file, allowing users to reduce file size without impacting overall appearance by removing sea, landscape, and interior meshes.
