Iowa Class Battleship model on a 1800th scale, Certain elements not proportional.\n\nUS Navy commissioned the Iowa class battleships as the last in its arsenal of battleships. Breaking free from the constraints imposed by the Washington Naval Treaty, designers were able to extend and enlarge their vessels while adding heavier armament. Today, all remaining Iowa-class battleships have survived as museum ships though none retain their original WWII configuration since undergoing multiple refurbishments following World War II. Their main weaponry consisted of nine fifty caliber sixteen-inch guns while twenty five-inch guns complemented an arsenal that included nearly one hundred and thirty 40mm and 20mm antiaircraft guns.\n\nI am showcasing a collection of historical warships from WWII; watch for more additions in the coming weeks.
