US Flag Star Template - Saturn V Rocket
thingiverse
I wanted to add a little more detail to the US Flags on my Saturn V model from: https://cults3d.com/en/users/theamphioxus/creations this one: https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various/apollo-15-saturn-5-pack-1-4-etage-s1c the blue ground was just a bit too much so I quickly designed a template which has all 50 stars through it. Very simple to use, just place the printed flag in the recess of the template, occasionally due to printing errors the flag may need a very slight trim with a very sharp craft knife, I suggest only trimming the right hand edge and the bottom but only if absolutely required. Hold the flag in place with a piece of masking tape or similar. Place the whole unit flag side up on top of a bright white light source such as a mobile phone screen so you can clearly see the light shining through all 50 holes, (beforehand it might be an idea to clean out all the holes, use a 0.75mm drill bit in a pin vise for ease). Carefully use a white marker pen, I use this type: https://www.posca.com/fr/product/pc-1mr-2/ and place a small dot over each light dot. That's it, just finished the job of nicely. The print does not need supports. 1st layer 0.2mm, then I did each layer as 0.1mm using a 0.25mm REVO nozzle for precise detailing. 2 bottom, 3 top layers & 25% grid infill Happy printing ;)
