It's a highly detailed model of an 8 axle flat car suited for large scale tracks, specifically 45mm gauge. These cars are used in North America to transport big and heavy loads, with their eight axles helping to distribute weight evenly on the rails. The trucks mounted on rotating beams allow this car to navigate very tight curves, as tested on 600 mm radius curves. Print Settings Printer: Vertex K8400 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.1 and 0.2 mm Infill: 20% Notes: This model is printed in ABS using a 3D adhesive spray on a heated bed at 100°. It's easier to glue parts together with PVC glue. You can also print this model in PLA as most of the parts are screwed together, and small parts can be glued with super glue. The central beam needs support when printing, so it has been cut into two sections for easy printing without supports, then glued back together. Post-Printing Four trucks need to be printed; I've already published them on Thingiverse and they're available at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1803630. The three parts of the flat bed can be glued or bolted with 2 mm bolts and nuts (four needed). The Brake platform is fixed with 3x8 mm screws, as is the central beam on the bed. You'll need to glue the Brake Wheel Stand and its various parts, same goes for the grab irons and ladders. There's a spacer that needs to be glued on the truck bolster to adjust the height of the car. I've designed a knuckle coupler with gearbox you can use for this car at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1908821. You can also use Kadee couplers (Model : 820 #1 scale with Draft gear box) but will need to insert a 2 mm thick spacer to get the coupler at the right height.
