US 100 Tons Roller Bearing Truck 1/32 - OpenRailway

I've designed a scale model of a massive 100-ton roller bearing truck, complete with axles mounted on ball bearings and working springs. This model serves as a vital component for an even larger project: a sturdy 50-foot heavy-duty flatcar featuring four trucks. Given the widespread use of these trucks across various rail cars, you can easily adapt this design to suit your needs. To print this model, follow these guidelines: Everything is printed in high-quality ABS plastic with a resolution of 0.1 mm and a nozzle size of 0.35 mm. The wall thickness is set at 0.6 mm, while the infill percentage is at 35%. Once you've finished printing, remove the tiny supports from the lower middle plate of the Side Frame using a small cutter blade. Next, file the plate to achieve a smooth surface - this area is where the lower part of the springs is inserted. If you prefer to utilize ball bearings for your axles, you'll need four 3x7x3 mm ball bearings. The axles themselves are made from 3 mm stainless steel rods measuring 61 mm in length. Alternatively, you can opt for a version of the Side Frame that uses 63 mm long axles without ball bearings. The springs employed in this design are scavenged from cheap ball-pens and measure 4.3 mm in diameter. However, any spring with a diameter ranging from 4 to 4.5 mm should fit, while the desired length can vary depending on the required strength - approximately 10 mm is recommended.
