UPPER LIMB EXOSKELETON REHABILITATION DEVICE
grabcad
Annually, approximately 15 million global individuals suffer strokes; among these, 23% become permanently disabled, displaying difficulties with arm movements. Strokes cause cortical tissue damage, disrupting neural command generation and integration. Physical therapy can help restore some normal arm functionality. The project's primary goal is to design an exoskeleton hand structure that allows for movement in every conceivable direction as a human hand. Aiming to achieve the degrees of freedom provided by the human hand - 3 rotational at the shoulder, 2 at the elbow, and 2 at the wrist - this model seeks to address stroke-affected patients' needs.
