Upper Burley dust collector with JTech Laser Mag Mount
thingiverse
Need a dust shoe for my MPCNC? I chose the increased clearance version of the magnetic dust shoe, which gives me peace of mind when it comes to keeping my printer clean and running smoothly. To make it work seamlessly with my JTech 7 watt + laser module, I designed a custom magnetic mounting plate that ensures everything is securely in place. I also created an adapter tube for the shoe, which allows me to connect it easily to my 1.25" vacuum hose. To ensure a tight seal and prevent any rattling or movement during operation, I added some seal rings between the bottom and top clamps. These rings are designed to fit snugly in place, closing up any gaps that might occur due to printer tolerances or different settings. The conical hole in the bottom clamp allows for a smooth connection with the tube, ensuring a good seal every time. The upper ring is designed to be pushed against the upper mount, providing additional holding power and keeping everything tight and secure. I made all these edits in Tinkercad, and then used Autodesk Netfab to "fix" the STL file and get it just right. Now that I have this adapter tube, I'm ready to go - all I need is four 8mmx3mm Neodymium magnets to complete the job. When installing the magnets, be sure to press-fit them in place so they're oriented correctly to attract your magnetic laser shroud on your laser module. With these simple steps, you'll have a dust shoe that's custom-made for your MPCNC and working like a charm.
