UPGRADED - Anet A8 Plus X axis idler and tensioner
thingiverse
I gave up on using 3mm ID idlers because they all had bearings that failed to deliver. So, I redesigned things to work with 5mm ID Gates idlers which actually do work. This change brought about very significant improvements. I also added X-axis tensioning into the design, which has its own set of advantages over doing it along the length of the belt. It gives much more subtle adjustment. When combined with working bearings, it allows tighter settings and better levels of adjustment. To consolidate my various designs and provide additional information, I created a blog about the project. It will be updated as I go.
