<p>The Cyclus Derailleur Hanger Adjustment Tool is a reasonable prices tool with a few shortcomings. &nbsp;First the tip itself is too short. Then: it cannot be freely moved around which makes working with the tool very difficult.</p><p>I came up with a measurement tip that can freely slide and rotate around the 12mm rod. There is no need for a fastening knob as in the original tool.&nbsp;</p><p>Besides the printed parts you need:</p><ul><li>1 Steel ball, 7mm. I took a spare ball from my Prusa Mk3s. But they are cheap on ebay.</li><li>2 M3x12 hex screws&nbsp;</li><li>1 Spring 4mm to 6mm diameter and 10mm ro 15mm length. A spring from an old giveaway ballpoint pen will work.&nbsp;</li><li>1 Steel ruler 150mm x 13mm x 0.5mm (or longer, shorten it if necessary)</li><li>1 countersink M3 x 5 screw&nbsp;</li><li>1 M3 nut</li></ul><p>All parts are printed according to the 3mf files I provided. I used Prusament PLA Jet Black as there is no need for a different material.&nbsp;</p><p>Assembly is simple.&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Put the 7mm steel ball in the opening of the ruler holder.</li><li>Put the spring on top</li><li>Test if the ball is able to stop the steel ruler from sliding (e.g. comes out sufficiently). If the ball does not protrude 1mm open the hole with a 5.5mm drill. In my case it worked out of the printer without any extra finishing necessary.</li><li>Screw the ruler holder to the slider using the two M3 screws. The M3 screws cut the thread directly in the holes of the slider. More than sufficient.</li><li>Insert the ruler and add the caps. The ruler tip is there to protect carbon rims or expensive aluminum rims from scratching.&nbsp;</li></ul><p>Note that you can get rid of the play of the Cyclus Derailleur Hanger Adjustment Tool in the axle by adjusting the grub screw.</p><p>Also note that accuracy of 2mm is absolutely sufficient as 2mm are resulting in a bend angle of 0.4° which is tolerable. A really bent derailleur hanger will result in 20mm difference.&nbsp;</p>
