Updated Preassembled Iris Box
thingiverse
This is a remix from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1811143 The original Preassembled Iris Box was rather large and users asked for smaller versions along with the base being too pointy/sharp. While I was editing the OpenSCAD source design file I found it wasn't easily Parametric so I added a few things like setting the number of leafs. It's still not completely parametric but I now have the original 120mm version along with a 70mm version. I've included the original source too. I changed the gap between the top and bottom shells to .2mm( one layer ) and hope that allows for easy break-away after printing since you can not print with supports. I also added small tabs on all leafs at the bottom to help keep them from falling while printing. These will need to be clipped after printing as you free up the leafs for use. An eXacto knive or pointing dikes should work. NOTE: you will need a well tuned 3D printer because this is pre-assembled(ie printed in place) so if you have a stringy uncalibrated machine you will likely have problems freeing up the mechanism.
