UPDATED: Paintball BT Flip Switch Safety Conversion (No Modifcation Needed!)

UPDATE (June 3rd, 2019) I'm noticing that the switch piece breaks frequently at the thinnest cylindrical part, so I've created a version two with great success. The jumping of the extruder from print to support makes the part weaker. I designed a new piece featuring an insert for a 1.50mm steel wire, which I tempered on my stovetop to make it harder. To get optimal results: - Use supports that only touch the buildplate. - Maintain the same speed and layer height (including start height) for both pieces. - Clean up the print thoroughly. - Apply glue to the insert hole as well as some on top (I used clear gorilla glue). - Twist while inserting wire with pliers. - Wipe off excess and let dry. - Install safety as before with V1. - Reinstall in marker before use! (Otherwise, the ring will just twist out of place; make sure it's right-side-up before pushing into the frame of your marker.) This conversion is for Empire BT (Battle Tested) Paintball markers to replace the original push-button safety with a flipping lever safety. The reason for this new safety is to reduce the chance of accidentally turning the safety off when setting down your marker, and vice versa when in battle. These pieces need to be neat and exact, so I printed my pieces at 20mm a second. Since the main piece doesn't have much surface contact on the bed while printing, I recommend using a glue stick on the bed. Supports are obviously required for the first piece. Some sanding may be necessary. How to Install: Steps shown in photos! 1. Remove the pistol grip from your BT marker. 2. Pull out the old push safety from the left side. 3. Take out the trigger mechanism. 4. Place the 180-degree stop piece on top of the hole from the inside (the cut-off corner facing forward) on the same side you took it out from. 5. While holding the stop piece in place, slide just the end of the main piece in so it's flush with the stop piece's top. Note that the lever must stay on the top 180 degrees otherwise it will not go through. 6. Wiggle the trigger mechanism back into place. 7. Slide the lever the rest of the way through the trigger mechanism (you may need to file/sand a tiny slot for the bump on the switch to fit through). 8. Reassemble your marker. If you have any questions, please let me know!
