UPDATE (June 3rd, 2019) I am experiencing frequent breakage of the switch piece on the thinnest cylindrical part, prompting a version two design that has achieved great success. The jumping of the extruder from print to support weakens the part. I have designed a new piece featuring an insert for a 1.50mm steel wire, which I tempered with my stovetop to increase its hardness. Key modifications include flipping the switch file, resulting in reduced support material and fewer jumps. To achieve optimal results: - Use supports that only touch the buildplate. - Maintain consistent speed and layer height (including start height) for both pieces. - Clean up the print thoroughly. - Apply clear gorilla glue to the insert hole and top of the piece. - Twist while inserting wire with pliers. - Remove excess glue and let it dry completely. - Install safety as previously done with V1. - Reinstall in marker before use, ensuring it's right-side-up. This conversion replaces the original push-button safety with a flipping lever safety for Empire BT (Battle Tested) Paintball markers. The new safety reduces accidental deactivation when setting down the marker and vice versa during battle. Precision is crucial; I printed my pieces at 20mm per second. A glue stick on the bed helps prevent the main piece from shifting during printing, while supports are necessary for the first piece. Some sanding may be required. To Install: 1. Remove the pistol grip from your BT marker. 2. Pull out the old push safety from the left side. 3. Take out the trigger mechanism. 4. Place the 180-degree stop piece (second piece) on top of the hole from the inside, with the cut-off corner facing forward. 5. While holding the stop piece in place, slide just the end of the main piece into position, ensuring it is flush with the top of the stop piece. 6. Wiggle the trigger mechanism back into place. 7. Slide the lever (first piece) through the trigger mechanism, possibly requiring a tiny slot for the bump on the switch to fit through. 8. Reassemble your marker. If you have any questions, please let me know!
