Updated - Dial Indicator mount for Anet A8
cults3d
V3 Update- more robust design - I suggest printing with heavy infill due to the abuse this piece can take and the stresses on the screw holes. This is a little mount I made for attaching a dial indicator to the print head of an Anet A8. its not perfect, but it works for me. The bore of the mount fits a gauge with a shaft diameter of about 8mm, and the little screw i use for clamping the gauge in place is a spare left over from the xyz stop switches, a little 2mm self tapping screw. The STL i uploaded is slightly different (improved hopefully) from the one pictured. It has deeper mount screw holes to allow for the fan shield and I made it a little large to support the gauge a little more robustly. The way I use it is as follows. Set your Z-Offset, then level your bed. Use as many points on the bed as you see fit ( my bed is concave a little so I measure near the corners and leave it at that). Once your bed is level re-check your Z-offset , and away you go. If you like it and have any suggestions on how it might be improved Im all ears.
