Received my CR-10S printer and quickly set it up for use by printing a custom spool holder that exceeded my expectations due to its impressive functionality. However, upon further inspection, I discovered that the stock spool holder was not identical to those that came with previous printers. My stock spool holder lacked threads on both ends, unlike other holders which featured two sets of threads, one at each end. Instead, my CR-10S printer shipped with a unique quarter/half turn nut that seemed out of place compared to the usual threaded design. Frustrated by this discovery, I decided to take matters into my own hands and designed a brand new spool holder from scratch. This innovative design boasts threads on both ends, offering users the flexibility they deserve. The best part? It makes use of the factory stand, providing an additional layer of stability and convenience. To create this masterpiece, I printed the main part upright with small threads at the top. Two nuts were also printed, but this time with flared sides facing downwards. For those in a hurry, you can print the smaller nut inside the larger one to significantly reduce printing time. All it takes is copying the x and y coordinates from the large nut over to the small nut. I've included a picture of how my printer set up looked like after completing this project. I also attached a picture of the stock spool holder, showcasing its design which features a small lip on one end to prevent the spool from falling off during use.
